

Margery A. Dunham, a resident of Henderson, Nevada died on Saturday, March 4, 2017 due to natural causes. Marge was born in Chicago, Illinois to Albie and Oscar Schumacher. Marge graduated from St. Patrick’s High School in 1951 and enlisted in the United States Naval Reserve in 1953. She proudly served in the Reserve for 8 years, which is where she met her beloved husband of 58 years, William E. Dunham, Jr. (deceased June 29, 2016). Marge worked in various capacities for the State of California for over 30 years starting her career as a dispatcher for the California Highway Patrol and working for other agencies such as California School for the Blind, California Lottery, DMV and Department of Justice. After retirement Marge moved to Henderson, Nevada where she and her husband were instrumental in starting the security patrol in the new housing development where they purchased their new home. Marge worked in the administrative offices of the Sun City Anthem Home Owners Association for several years before retiring again. Few people knew that Marge was a trend-setter; she was one of the first women to drive stock cars professionally in the early 1950’s. Marge was a much beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, friend, and neighbor. Her memory in the lives of those she touched will be long-lasting. Marge is survived by her only daughter, Faith and her husband David; her only grandchild, Emily; her older brother, Oscar and his family; her younger brother, Harold and his family; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 25th at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a reception at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas, NV.
