Maryrose Uftring was born on May 18, 1948 as Maryrose Martin in Westmeath, Ireland. She was adopted at 2 ½-years old to Charles and Gertrude Bartsch from New York. The family then moved to Lynbrook, New York where they settled in. Maryrose loved her adopted parents very much. She was very young when she and her dad lost Gertrude. Maryrose started work at the age of 15-years old at a butcher shop in Lynbrook; years later she got a job at USPS. Then one day she met someone who worked for American Airlines, so on September 27, 1974 was her first day of her 40-year career. Mary met her husband George Uftring the winter of 1975 at the gate on a ramp at American Airlines. George and Maryrose were married on September 24, 1977. They welcomed their first child, William George Uftring, into this world on July 18, 1978. A couple of years down the line Maryrose told George she wanted to try for another child while he was painting the garage. On May 31, 1984 they welcomed another child Mary Elizabeth Uftring. In 1991, the Uftring family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. Here Maryrose became a Customer Service Manager (CSM). She loved her job. Later on she decided to take an Operation position at American Airlines. In 2002, Maryrose got sick with lung cancer. The family had to drive to San Diego to have her lung removed. Everything went great, and she continued to work at American Airlines. Mary and George's son William met a wonderful lady named Tabetha and they decided to get married. They had a baby named Anthony William Uftring. A couple of years down the line they had another child Abigail Rose Uftring. Then in 2012, Mary Elizabeth married a wonderful man, Brian Page. Maryrose loved being a wife, mother, best friend, and Nana. She was always dedicated to her family. Maryrose made an impact on many people, both young and old. If you were having a bad day, she would try to make you smile and think about how much worse it could be. She was approaching her 40th year with the company and planned on retiring in 2014. There are not enough words in this world to describe this amazing woman who came into our lives. She was a passionate loving and caring human being; so independent and very well respected. The love that she had for her family is indescribable. We could never ask for a better wife for our dad, mother and best friend to us, and a Nana to her grandchildren. We will miss you tremendously. Maryrose passed away on March 13, 2014 with her family by her side holding her hands. Arrangements under the direction of Palm Eastern Mortuary, Las Vegas, NV.
