Matt Keim

A private burial will be held Friday, March 22nd, 2024. A celebration of life will be held Saturday March 23rd, 2024, at The Las Vegas Ballpark from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm located at 1650 S Pavilion Center Dr Las Vegas NV 89135.

Matthew Loren Keim was born May 5th, 1975, son of Loren and Mary (Weber) Keim in Bloomington/Normal IL. Matt graduated from Marina High School in Huntington Beach CA with the class of 1993, where he held the three-point record for years to come. Matt then continued his education at Illinois State University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in communications. Out of college he worked for State Farm Insurance as an underwriter in Bloomington IL until advancing to become a field specialist for State Farm in Chicago IL.

In 2005 he left his beloved city of Chicago where he bled Cubby blue and Bear downed to open his State Farm agency in Las Vegas NV. In February of 2007, he opened his scratch/brand new State Farm Agency building it to be one of the largest agencies in the Las Vegas Valley. With his strong work ethic, he became a leader in production, not only in Las Vegas, but becoming top 50 in the country multiple times.

In April of 2008 he met his wife Bree Buckles through mutual colleagues. Bree also happened to be from the Chicago area and would become a State Farm agent as well. On May 24, 2014, the couple married at the M Casino and Resort in Las Vegas NV. Matt loved to travel to follow the Cubs and Bears and was famous for flying into a city on a Saturday and leaving on the next day. He could recite any sports statistic and could easily beat anyone in sports trivia. He enjoyed golfing even in the Vegas heat and relaxing in the pool.

On November 15,2019 the couple welcomed their first and only son into the world Zachary Robert Loren Keim. The name was easy to agree on as the two middle names included both Grandpas. Matt was amazing with kids and was so excited to become a dad. He created shirts for his parents and his wife for the announcement, as well as decorated the entire nursery with Bears and Cubs as the theme. Once Zach was born, they enjoyed creating funny videos, riding on the golf cart to feed the ducks, and walking their two dogs Buddy and Wrigley.

Everyone who had the joy of knowing Matt knows he lit up a room upon his entrance with his contagious laughter and smile. He had a way of making everyone that he met feel special and appreciated. He was kind, generous, loyal, hilariously funny with an amazing sense of humor, thoughtful, and beyond charismatic. In one word, he was amazing.

Matt is survived by wife Bree Buckles: son Zachary Robert Loren Keim: parents Mary & Loren Keim: sister Lisa Keim: brother Tom Keim: nieces Paige Keim and Sam Carr. Sister-in-law Heather Foster (Jim): Mother-in-law Sharon Buckles: and many Weber & Keim aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Matt is preceded in death by, grandparents Loren and Mary Keim, grandparents Francis and Margaret Weber, uncles Pat Weber, Mike Weber, and Gary Keim (Joan) and Father-in-law Bob Buckles.
