Michael "Danny" Boka, 93, of Las Vegas, passed away May 20, 2019. He was born December 23, 1925 on a ranch outside Dillon, Montana. During WWII he fought in Italy with the 88th "Fighting Blue Devils" Infantry Division. After the war he graduated with a teaching degree from Montana State Normal College (University of Montana Western), in Dillon in 1950, where he lettered in every sport, and later earned Master's degrees in both Music and English. It was there that he met his wife of 65 years, Joan Yearian Boka. The family eventually moved to Las Vegas in 1960, where he taught school, retiring from teaching English at Valley High School and where he was also the tennis coach. Danny and Joan were also active in The Musical Arts Workshop. Danny was a loving husband and father. He was preceded in death by Joan and their son, Mark. Danny is survived by his daughter, Mikka Moon; son Michael (Doris); daughter, Monica (partner Joe Greber); five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Danny was very much loved and will be missed by all. Services will be private.
