Michael Dane Keown, 65, a retired timeshare salesman, of Las Vegas, passed away peacefully May 4, 2012. Mike was born Sept. 30, 1946 in Owensboro, Ky. He grew up in Bowling Green, Ky., and was a 17-year resident of Nevada. After graduating from Western Kentucky University, Mike made a successful, lifelong career in sales. He retired from Diamond Resorts International in 2004. He was very serious about having fun and enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling and playing cards. He will be remembered as kind-hearted, genuine and very, very funny. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jewell Keown. He is survived by his children, Michael Keown, Krista (Keown) Walsworth, Jennifer (Keown) Bookstaff, and Stefanie (Keown) Popplewell; his five granddaughters, Harper, Eleanor, Catelin, Brianna and Riley; his father, Charles Keown; his brother, Gregory Keown; his sister, Pamela (Keown) Folmar; and many friends and extended family. A memorial service for family and friends will be at 5 p.m., Thursday, May 10, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
