I regret not hearing sooner of Mikes passing. To begin with we were partners on the wagon at 13th pct if you ever felt safer while performing police duties it was working with Mike. Luckily we never were confronted with many bad situations.  Mike was always spit and polished in uniform I myself could never shine my shoes as well as Mike.  He had a great sense of humor, he was more like a brother at times than a partner.  I am at a loss for words and he will be sadly missed.  I hope someday to stand roll call with him in the big precinct in the sky.  God bless you and thank you for being a hell of a brother and friend.

I worked with Mike at Loomis since 2016, I am really gonna miss him, Mike always had our backs.  one of the best supervisors I have ever worked with. Always someone you could come and talk to when you had a problem. A straightforward man with a lot of common sense.. rest in peace Mike! 

Liz, I want to express my love for you and Mike!  I am grateful to call you both friends. I am particularly thankful for Mike and his kind nature and great conversations. He and I always had good times talking about the Midwest and our favorite college football teams. His being Ohio State and mine being Michigan State. I worked with Michael from the time he started till 1989. He was a good friend and a great officer. I will miss his great sense of humor and wit. He always said that he would be retiring in Vegas and so he did. He will be missed by so many. My condolences to his family. May God Bless You during this time.

Liz, as many, saddened to hear of Mike's passing.   We were partners early in his CPD career on 11Pct. B Co.  He was a great guy, great officer.  Someone you could always count on.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

Deeply saddened to learn of Mike’s passing.  I first met Mike in the early 1960’s. He was always one of the most resourceful people I have ever known.  By the age of 12 he had lined us up jobs peddling hot dogs and soda at The Horseshoe.  Later he got us graduated to game-day programs, where the real money was.  We also worked various concession jobs at the Fairgrounds Coliseum when we weren’t trying to hustle people for quarters at the Northern Lights Putt Putt.  Once Mike decided to show me how to turn $5 into $10 at The Ohio State Fair.  With an uncanny accurate arm, he filled a plastic bag with stuffed animals he won off the carnival games with his $5 only to go behind the tents and sell them back to a carney for $10. Whether it was horse racing at Beulah Park and Scioto Downs or golf at Minerva Lake and Bridgeview, we always managed to have a great time.  My condolences.  He will be missed.   

I've had a great amount of respect for Mike from our time at CPD.  I was a young and newly promoted Sergeant when I was assigned to 12 pct on 3rd shift.  With Mike on 11 pct we overlapped frequently. I remember looking to his ability and experience to provide me with reassurance.  He would provide a subtle reassuring expression as I learned my new responsibilities.  You are one of the best Mike.  You will be missed.

My first permanent assignment on CPD was 11 precinct, 3rd shift. Worked with Mike there from 1979 through 1985. As a young and new Officer, I watched for Officers I could respect and hopefully emulate. Mike was that for me. I lost track of him as years went by, but I never forgot him through my 30 years with the Division. He was one of the best. May God pour out His comfort and peace on Mike's family and loved ones. He will be missed.    

I worked with Mike in the early 80's for several years on 11 precinct, third shift.  Mike was a great police officer and a great person.  When I was first assigned to 11 precinct I was young and energetic and was always showing up on runs whether I was dispatched or not.  This habit led to Mike hanging the nickname "Pup" on me, meaning that I was like a puppy dog always getting into things and following others around.  I'm now 65 years old and officers from "Back in the day" still call me Pup, a moniker I wear with pride due to the man that gave it to me.  Rest in Peace MIke, you did it right and you will be missed.

So sorry to here about Mike’s passing. I remember the many times 
working with Mike at Columbus Police. Mike worked in the Special Investigation Unit and he would help me many times with our investigations in the Intelligence Bureau. Mike was just a great cop as well as a good friend.

Mike and myself go back before our days on the police dept. I remember out trip to Chicago and hanging out with another friend Ron Brown gone too soon also. I entered the police dept in 1972 and Mike entered later. Prayers to the family

I crossed paths with Mike at CPD on several occasions and he was always a very pleasant guy to be around.  My condolences.

Kathy and I are so devastated by this tragic news. Mike worked with me on 11 Precinct and in the Seizure Forfeiture Unit of the Columbus Police Legal Bureau. I never met a more dedicated officer in my life. Mike and Liz were fun to be with and we will never forget the fun times we had going to see the Cleveland Browns and the many trips to Vegas. Those are fond memories which Kathy and I will always treasure. God’s speed Mike. You left this world a better place. ✝️

There has always been a soft spot in my heart for Mike. He was one of the sweetest persons I have ever met. 

I met Mike in 1990 during my first assignment out of the Columbus PD's 75th academy class.  I was assigned to the 11th Precinct in the south end of Columbus, OH, where Mike had worked for quite some time.  Mike was welcoming, friendly, and always looked out for us young guys as we learned the ropes of being a Columbus officer.  Mike knew the job and was a great police officer probably because he had such a friendly manner and a common-sense approach.  9 times out of 10 Mike could defuse a tense situation with some friendly words and good advice, but in the event of that 10th time going south, Mike was a man you were glad to have in your corner.  The one thing that impressed me most about Mike was that his appearance in uniform was ALWAYS impeccable.  Rest in peace my brother it was a privilege to know and work with you.

Mike and I were in the 54th Academy Class to become Columbus Police Officers in Columbus, Ohio. Being one of the first 10 women on Patrol, we faced much opposition from the public and also from other co-workers. Mike would laugh it off and always told us he had our backs regardless of what others thought or said, AND HE DID!!
He always had a smile on his face and a joke on his lips. He was fun to work with and be around. Take comfort family in knowing that Mike is seated in Heaven where he can look down and continue to protect you from the negatives of life. He will be missed but never forgotten.

Words that come to mind when I think of Mike: Strong, Tough, Caring, Loving, Funny, hardworking, dedicated, honest! He was the best combination of all the great characteristics a person could encompass.  I met Mike & Liz while waitressing at Red Rock Casino & Resort. One evening, I dropped off their usual Bailey’s & Coffee, no whip. Liz turns to Mike and says, “Honey will you give her a tip”.  I turned to Mike and said, “Oh, so you’re the Sugar Daddy”? We all three shared a good laugh for a few minutes. From then on, I would always write “Sugar Daddy” on the lid of Mike's coffee and in turn this became his name. Our friendship developed and it was such a treat when they came in. Getting to hear about their lives and get to know the wonderful people they are is one of my fondest memories of living in Las Vegas. I eventually left Red Rock and went to work right next to Liz. Needless to say, Mike and Liz quickly became my Vegas Parents.  Even house sitting for them while they were on vacation.  I have so many wonderful memories with Mike & will forever hold them close to my heart.  I Love You Sugar Daddy!

Mike was a great guy. A great listener and someone who if he saw something in you he would push you to achieve your goals. Mike was always the guy who if I had a problem or just needed advice I'd go to him. He always had a story to tell about his law enforcement years or a funny store about loomis. I personally am hurt that he isn't on this earth anymore. Mike you most definitely will be missed. Rest in peace my good buddy until we meet again. 

"Magic" Mike made coming to work at 5am FUN.  Your sense of humor brightened up every day. I'm so glad our friendship continued on and I will miss our lunch get- togethers.  Louie will be so happy to see you - now you'll both resume your fun walks.

I met Mike and Liz at the Red Rock casino.  I always felt like they were family.  I would talk to Mike about the Golden Knights.  We would "whoo-hoo" when they won.  Mike was such a kind and funny person.  I'm going to miss him so much.  He was loved by so many of us at Red Rock.  We hugged and cried together when we heard this sad news.  I prayed for him and Liz every night.  I still pray for Liz.  I love you both and I will NEVER forget him because he was one in a million.  Rest In Peace my fellow Buckeye.

I met Mike when we both worked together. I was lucky to share an office with him because he had a great sense of humor and was always making me laugh..  I knew that I could always just be myself and never had to hold back on just being me! He was a great friend and  he will be missed but he will always have a place in my heart.. My condolences..was so sad to hear of this..My dad loved his baby brother so much..Mike's whole family was always so proud of him and his life choices..R.I.P. uncle Mike

He was a little bit of a hard ass but if you could take it you got along with him great. We often would meet up at work and B.S. about how soft the new generation was as he would complain about all the cry babies that he had to deal with and the idiots that look into their gun barrels....He has done everything from chewing my butt for my driving to covering me it from being fired I'm sure.  He was a great mentor and a good friend. It was an honor to have meet him and been able to work with him.

Mike was always there for me, even when he was very busy. He would make time to chat or make sure I got something I needed for a case I was working on.

He always had a smile on his face and truly cared about everyone at work. He was a good friend and mentor to me. He will be deeply missed. 

I worked with Mike for about 7 years, he was a straight shooter that always had your back.  A really great guy who will really be missed.
