Nate was born and raised in Cincinnati, the son of Fred and Esther (Tabakow) Wolfson and brother of the late David (Mickey) and Phil (Gloria) Wolfson.
He married Madeline (Fox) Wolfson in 1948, and they stayed happily together until her death in 2013. Nate is survived by his three daughters, Sandy Wolfson (the late Nigel Glossop), Lois Wolfson (Dan Taylor) and Karen Wolfson; grandchildren Amy Glossop (George Pavey) and Seth Glossop; and great grandchildren Max Pavey and Matilda Pavey. He also leaves behind three generations of loving nieces and nephews; cousins; and his close friends, Morrie Jaeger, Dorothy Stiebel, and Norm Wolf. He was predeceased by in-laws, Estelle and Eugene Klein and Arlene and Mark Widerschein.
Nate served in the army in World War II and was stationed in Germany. Many years later after coming home to Cincinnati, he became manager of the National Mattress Company. He and Madeline moved to California in the early 80s where he was vice-manager of the California Commerce Club. They later moved to Las Vegas, where he held his dream job running the sports book at the former MGM and Sands hotels.
He had a lifelong passion for sports, both as a competitor and fan, and in his younger years was known for his baseball pitching ability in the Cincinnati Jewish Community Center softball league. He spent his last 40 years in Las Vegas where he enjoyed gaming, particularly playing craps, poker, and blackjack. He was still playing throughout his 90s. He also loved wildlife shows and playing checkers and hearts on the computer.
