

He was born June 2, 1931 in Brooklyn, NY to Umberto Simonelli and Anna Kwasnycia Simonelli. He found his life’s love in Carmen Cisneros, whom he married on June 22, 1958, and they celebrated 59 years of marriage together.
Naz was accepted at the prestigious Brooklyn Tech for his high school education. He went on to receive a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from The Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He ultimately earned a Masters in Electrical Engineering from The Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn.
Naz was awarded engineering patents. He spent his career working for Sperry/Unisys, giving them 38 years of dedicated service. He served on his alma mater’s Alumni Association and was a member of the I.E.E.E.
Naz loved the arts. He attended the ballets, operas, symphonies and Broadway musicals, enjoying each with great passion and appreciation. He enjoyed traveling with his wife Carmen, as well as with good friends. He loved good food, a glass of wine, and his Bacardi cocktails. He also fervently loved the cats he had as pets throughout his life.
All who met Naz instantly had an affinity for him. His gentle nature, ability to laugh, and generous spirit fostered lifelong friendships as well as friendships in later years.
He is survived by his wife Carmen; son Michael; daughter Anna Maria; son-in-law Daniel; grandchildren Nicholas James and Kelsey Daniella; and beloved cat Figaro.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 2:00pm at Palm Eastern Mortuary.
