OMA LEWIS May 14, 1914 ~ Nov. 27, 2010. Our precious Granny Goober passed peacefully away in her Henderson home Saturday morning. She was 96 years old. She was the mother of six sons; 19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, of 55 years, JW "Bo" Lewis; two sons; and a granddaughter. She was, and will remain the light of our lives. She taught us about family and life by her example and with great love. Her world renown recipes for chicken and dumplings, potato salad and tea cakes were often copied but never duplicated. Services will be at Palm Mortuary-Eastern in Las Vegas, Thursday, Dec. 2. Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. with a celebration of her life immediately following. Graveside prayer service at Forrest Lawn Cemetery in Cypress, Calif., is pending Donations to the angels of Las Vegas Odyssey Hospice in Oma's name would be greatly appreciated.
