Dear Ed, Andrew, and Chris -- I will always cherish those summers in Coney as a child.  They are among my fondest memories.  Patsy Ann's laugh was contagious, and we would spend weeks anxiously awaiting your family's arrival from Chicago.  Thank you all for making my life richer.  Aunt Patsy Ann, my godmother, will be missed but never forgotten.  I wish I could be there with you, but our love and prayers are with your family during this difficult time.

Another sad loss in our special family opens the door of many wonderful memories of our times togther.You are in my thoughts and prayers. Now Patsy Ann, Andy, Patricia and Donnie are having a great reunion in Heaven.  Love from your sister-in-law and aunt.

It is difficult to express both the happiness of the memories and the sorrow in my heart when I think of the passing of my Aunt Patsy Ann.  Although the physical distance is even greater than when I was a child, my thoughts are with my uncle and cousins.  Please know that I treasure the special times shared with you and Aunt Patsy Ann.  I wish you all the strength needed to endure this difficult time and am sure that her understanding, patient spirit will remain with you always.

Summer nights on Douglas Avenue, 4th of July fireworks, bingo at the Lonaconing fire hall, Grandma's spaghetti dinner, sitting on the front porch talking to passersby, Uncle Curly and Eva, Julia and Catherine, fireflies in the back yard, Shad Landing, steamed crabs, Uncle Ed's watercolors, chiller-dillers.  We love you Aunt Patsy Ann and our many happy summers, Victor and Linda.

I am so sorry to hear and reminded how grateful I am to have had the Hayes' as special people in my life growing up. With deepest sympathy.

Dear Ed,
We are so very sorry to hear of Pat's passing.  Our sincerest sympathy to you, your boys Andy & Chris as well as all your grandchildren (& did we read - great grandchildren?).  There are so many memories with Pat and you attached to when all of our children were even in grammar school.  When our daughter needed some minor surgery, Pat was there at the hospital assuring her and us that all would be well.  Your home was always a warm place to visit then and in Vegas.  We are blessed for your friendship.

Dear Ed,
     At our age, news such as this probably shouldn't come as a surprise, but this bit knocked the wind out of me.  That's probably because we were all children together, more or less.  From the time we descended upon the Everglades Apartments as a flock of sophisticated sailor carnivores (we thought), come from Norfolk to hunt nurses, we apparently became the prey.  Three of us were netted there. 
     Patsy was definitely a prize.  When you and I would disagree, as we often did and still do, she was the one who urged us not to damage a long friendship over small things.  Many memories.  Patsy Ann always was a favorite of mine.
     Our love and comfort to you and all the family.
