Peter George Kypreos

Born May 15, 1936 in Kakouri, Tripoli, Greece

Peter George Kypreos, was the beloved son of George and Sophia Kypreos. He immigrated to the United States July of 1951, beginning a life marked by faith, hard work, entrepreneurship, and deep devotion to family and community.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Geraldine Kypreos; his son, George Kypreos; his daughter, Sophia Kypreos Judkins; and his cherished grandchildren, Anton Gorup, Peter Gorup, and Athanasia Panagiota Kypreos. He is also survived by his youngest brother James Kypreos of Glendora, California, and his older sister, Toula Tsipianitis, of Stadio, Greece.

A devoted parishioner of St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church since 1966, Peter faithfully served his church as Parish Council President and as a dedicated volunteer. His Orthodox faith was the foundation of his life.

Peter was active in many civic and fraternal organizations, including Masonic Lodge, Shriners, AHEPA, Pan Arcadians, and others.

After moving to Las Vegas in 1966, Peter worked tirelessly to support his family, beginning as a cook at Jerry’s Nugget, later working as a taxi driver, and holding various positions in the casino industry. In 1980, Peter opened Pete’s Place, earning a reputation as the “King of Boulder Highway.” His warmth and hospitality drew loyal patrons who followed him to later ventures, including The Green’s Supper Club and RePete’s Tavern.

Peter loved life, travel, and his homeland. After marrying in Greece in 1969, he returned often, maintaining a strong connection to his roots.

Above all, Peter was a man of faith, a devoted family man, and a friend to many.

A visitation will be held at Saint John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, located at 5300 El Camino Rd, Las Vegas, NV, 89118, on February 1, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

The funeral service will take place at the same venue on February 2, 2026, from 10:30 am am to 11:30 am.

The committal service will be conducted at Palm Mortuary - Eastern, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV, 89123, on February 2, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
