Pompeia L. Beltran passed away in Liberty, Missouri on October 5, 2023 at the age of 81. She was born in Candaba, Pampanga in the Philippines. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Consuelo Limjoco, her brother Amador Limjoco, and her sister Eden Gulapa. She was the sixth of eleven children.
In Pampanga, she attended elementary school in Candaba, and completed high school at Assumption Academy in San Fernando. She graduated from Manila Central University with a degree in medicine in 1965.
She met Mindano "Danny" Beltran in 1972 as immigrants in Southern California. They married in May 1973. They had three children: Christine, Michael, and Melvyn.
The Beltran family settled in Elkhart, a small town in Kansas. It was their home for over 30 years. Pompeia was devoted to the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, and was an active member of the Coterie Club. She was loved by the community for her cooking and friendly sociability. Danny and Pompeia retired to Las Vegas in 2010.
Religion was important to Pompeia, and was a guiding element in her life. She was a generous person. Her home was open to her family and friends. She was always willing to help someone in need. She was proud of the family she raised, and loved her grandchildren greatly. Her granddaughter Ava says "G-ma was resilient, a fighter, a great cook, perfectionistic, passionate, mindful, empathetic, sympathetic, smart, thoughtful, and a good person to be around".
Survivors include her husband Danny; children Christine, Michael, and Melvyn; daughter-in-laws Kathy and Rachael; grandchildren Ava, Andrew, Audrey, Jude, and Dominic; brother Ted; and sisters Encarnacion ("Jing"), Edna, Divina ("Debbie"), Salvacion ("Vacion"), Fatima ("Fat"), Nora, and Olga.
Rest in peace, Pompei. You passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus, surrounded and supported by your family. We love you, and will miss you greatly.
