Quintin “Kenny” Garcia Fabro, 74, of Las Vegas Nevada , passed away on December 6, 2023 after a multi-organ failure at St. Rose Hospital surrounded by his wife, children with their spouses and grandchildren.
Quintin was born to Enrique and Felipa Fabro in Urdaneta City, Philippines. He grew up in the Philippines with his brother and three sisters. In 1964, he began fatherhood to his eldest son, Carlito.
He also grew up in Hawaii and California. Most of his life was spent in San Jose, CA as an auto mechanic. He was a TRUE Bay Area sports fan. More than 90% of his apparel was SF 49ers, SF Giants, Golden State Warriors, and San Jose Sharks. He spent most of his day hanging out with his 'Bay Area Radio Club' friends at Winchell's Donut House and spoiled his kids with donuts and snacks.
In 2001, his family resided to Las Vegas, NV.
His daily ritual was hanging out at AM/PM gas station and drinking coffee with his new friends in Las Vegas. It was not a Winchell's Donut House, but he and his buddy made an effort to be there daily so that the staff would give them free coffee!
In 2005, he was remarried to Jennifer and had two children together. He could not be happier to find someone to grow old with. Every day, they would watch the TFC (The Filipino Channel) and cook, Jennifer was his sous-chef. They also love to thrift shopping since they have the best deals.
In the last 16 years, he endured many health issues including a cardiac arrest but he always made a “big comeback” after his experiences of surviving five cardiac arrests. Despite his challenges, he didn’t let that stop him living his best life. Quintin spent his time gardening, face-timing his distant loved ones (grandkids and sons), making people laugh with his quirky actions and statements, and cooking was his love language. He loved whipping up meals for his out of town guests and loved telling everyone to “come eat at my house”.
The statement ‘family first’ is what he lived by. If you were his family, he would pour so much love on you. He was proud “Dad/Papa /Lolo '' with a heart of gold. His children were his pride and joy. At a family function, he proudly notified the family members on the upcoming hula shows his children and grandchildren were performing and then shared it on his favorite social media, DA PACEBOOK (Facebook). On his profile, he shares all of his children’s posts, so he can show the talent of his family. Seeing his family members always brought the brightest smile to his face.
Quintin was predeceased by his parents, Enrique and Felipa; and brother, Rufo.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Jennifer; eight children, Carlito, Melody, Donald, Michael, Rheanna, Janine, Kenny Jane, and Kyla; 13 grandchildren, Fatima, Carla, Agnes, Kaylee, Kaileah, Kyson, Raynon, Rylee, Deacon, Malachi, Neriah, and Azaria Kayden; three great-grandchildren: Ayessa (17), Dwayne (17), and Dwyte(15); and three sisters, Nieves, Gloria, and Felicitas.
A celebration of life for Quintin will be held Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 2-5PM, beginning with a memorial service at 2PM, all at Palm Southwest Mortuary, 7979 W. Warm Springs Rd. Las Vegas, NV 89113.
