She was born and raised in Elk City, Kansas to James and Louise Mason. Her family relocated to Southern California when she was a teenager and there she met and later married her husband, Ray, and father of her five children. Eventually she would raise the children on her own. After her children were grown and raising their own families, she then relocated to Las Vegas in 2004, to be close to two daughters. Her youngest son later followed. Rebecca was very talented in arts and crafts. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and studying the Bible. She was a woman of great faith and kindness. Her wonderful laugh and witty sense of humor will always be remembered along with her immeasurable support and encouragement. The exceptional love and care for her loyal companions was selfless and a true testament to her gentle spirit. Princess, Daisy, Mikey, and sweet little Sammy will never be forgotten.
Rebecca is survived by her five children. Susie Chavarria of Las Vegas, Debra Montijo (Jon) of Las Vegas, Valery Opland (Steven) of Santa Cruz, Steven Chavarria (Ana) of Irvine, and Brandon Chavarria of Las Vegas.
