Robert E. Childers, age 66, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 after a bravely fought battle against cancer. Robert was born February 5, 1955 in Las Vegas, Nevada to Earl and Lily Childers.
In 1973, Bob graduated from Las Vegas High School. He enjoyed his career as a custom auto upholster and artist, loved to build hot rods, and loved the finished project of doing and creating upholstery…this would calm and relax him to see his finished product. He enjoyed attending car shows. Bob was self-employed most of his life. Only for three years did he work for the Imperial Palace doing car restoration on antique cars. While working at the Imperial Palace he was Employee of the Month. He also had a full article written about his upholstery in Street Rodder magazine.
He loved to eat lobster but because he had gout, he could only indulge on his and his wife’s anniversary. Bob loved to laugh and tell jokes and always loved life and people; he was a true encourager. He always said his greatest accomplishment was his kids.
When anyone met him, he always left an everlasting impression. He was the life of the party and will be truly missed.
His parents Earl and Lily Childers preceded Bob in death.
Bob is survived by his wife Jacqueline (Kennedy) Childers; daughter Katrina (Childers) Doone; son James Childers; and grandchildren Jolie Doone, Elijah Childers, Kailyn Childers.
A Celebration of Life was held at Northgate Christian Church on October 9, 2021, at 11:00am.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.palmeastern.com for the Childers family.
