

Col. Robert Dewitt Mojica, USAR (ret), age 95, of Las Vegas, formerly of San Francisco, California, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 in Henderson, Nevada. He was born on October 6, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois and has been a Las Vegas resident for the past 2 ½ years.
Mr. Mojica retired from the US Army Reserves after 42 years of service in the 1980’s. He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Arts from the University of Chicago and worked as a general contractor in San Francisco before his retirement. He enjoyed learning about everything. He liked putting together models, history and traveling with his wife, Barbara. Mr. Mojica was on the Board of Directors for the Cow Palace in San Francisco and was known as a “progressive” for his generation.
He was a member of the VFW, University of Chicago Alumni Association and the Ancient and Honorable Order of E. Clampus Vitus Devil Mountain Brigade.
Robert was preceded in death in 2020 by his wife, Barbara, daughter, Karen Mojica and two siblings: Ruth Mojica Hammer and Carlos Mojica.
He is survived by his children: Wolf (Gezzel) Mojica, Shannon (Terri Gentle) Mojica and Kelley Johnson; grandchildren: Nichole (Kadeem) James, Camille (LaGuam Jordan) Mojica, Robert C. Mojica, Nick (Velena Ramos) Mojica, Adeleyah C. Mojica and Hermione H. Mojica; great grandchildren: Lincoln, London, Kaya, Bhodi and Kaire and nieces and nephews: Josephine Rosa, Denise Cepican, Arlette Hernandez, Adrienne Garcia, Brigitte (Art) Lopez, Adam Mojica and Linda Garcia Merchant.
A Celebration of Life for Robert will begin at 11:30am with a Memorial Service beginning at 12pm, all at Palm Southwest Mortuary, 7979 W. Warm Springs Rd, Las Vegas, Nevada.
