Roberta Jean Hansen

Roberta, better known as Robbie, Ms. Hansen, or Mom, grew up in Las Vegas while spending

her summers with her mom’s family in Somerset, New Jersey. While going to school at Chaparral HS, she also attended Lutheran church and church camp, where she met her other half, Joel Michael Hansen, on October 23, 1990 at the age of 15. Out of their inseparable union, came about 2 sons, Dylan and Tristan Hansen. There was nothing Robbie wouldn’t do for her 3 boys, including showing them the world along with all the love that there is within it.

Outside of being the glue of the household, she gave her heart and soul to her passion of teaching. After graduating within the first class of Green Valley High School in 1993, she went on to earn her Bachelors in Education at UNLV in 2002 and her Masters of Arts in Education/Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Phoenix in 2010. She also went as far as to get her GATE endorsement in 2019, but unfortunately never got the chance to use it. Being a teacher at Lincoln Elementary for over 17 years, Robbie became a real-life influencer that had a tremendous impact on the Las Vegas Community. Not only did she teach at school everyday, but she also taught everyone around her to “treat others the way you would want to be treated,” and to have the most positive outlook on life.

Her memory lives on amongst the 100s of students she has taught over the years, as well as her loving friends and family who will keep her spirit alive in their everyday lives while holding her near and dear to their hearts. She will forever be missed and loved.

A memorial service for Roberta will be held Monday, September 5, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123.
