July 25, 1947 – March 3, 2018
Rosalie was born on July 25, 1947 in Brooklyn, New York where she grew up. She is preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Josephine DeGeorge, and her brother Joe. She was the loving wife of Jeffrey Potts for 26 years. She has two beautiful children, Gina and John, and four amazing grandchildren, Samantha, Isaiah, Ella and Elijah. She also was blessed with a wonderful son-in-law, Chris. She had one niece and two nephews, Denise, Peter and Joey, whom she loved as if they were her own children.
Rosalie moved to Las Vegas with her family in 1978. She worked as a hairdresser at the Desert Inn hotel and even worked on the cast of the TV show Vegas! It was when she began her career at the United States Post Office that she met her husband and love of her life, Jeff, in 1988. They were married at a chapel on March 10, 1992 and renewed their vows on March 10, 2011, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Rosalie and Jeff were very strong in their faith attending many classes together and read the bible daily with each other. Jeff was also baptized into the church in March 2011. Rosalie enjoyed serving in the church where she was a lector for many years and also taught CCD classes over the years.
Family and friends were everything to Rosalie. Her grandchildren were her world. Rosalie and Jeff always helped care for the grandkids, never saying no. They loved taking them to Disneyland and Samantha was even lucky enough to go with them to Disney World! When Sami turned 16, they were more than happy to give her her first car. Rosalie had so many lifelong friends that she loved dearly. She even had a couple of “adopted” children that she treated as her own. Some of her other favorite past times were to travel and to spend time in the casinos with Jeff.
The last year of Rosalie’s life was very blessed despite many hardships. She and Jeff took the trip of a lifetime together. A cruise that traveled to Jerusalem, Italy and Greece in a room fit for a queen. It was an amazing trip and at the top of their bucket list. Rosalie also turned 70 in July and was blessed to share it with her family and friends. In October, she was able to have another wish come true which was to see her daughter get married. Gina and Chris tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony at the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California with family and friends. Of all the holidays, Christmas was Rose’s favorite and she was able to spend her last Christmas surrounded by her loved ones creating precious memories that will last forever.
You are loved by all Rosalie. May you rest in peace at home in Heaven with our dear, sweet Lord.
