Rufino Q Aquino

Rufino Quirimit Aquino, also known as Ruf, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 with his family by his side. He was born on December 7, 1940 in Mangaldan, Pangasinan in the Philippines. Rufino was a devoted and loving husband to Luz Balancio Aquino, a wonderful father to his three children, Raquel, Jo-Ann, and Allan, and a proud grandfather to his five grandchildren, Kurt Jr., Kris, Kyle, Maya, and Adriana. Rufino and Luz moved to San Francisco in 1968 where he worked at Bank of America for 17 years. After retiring he enjoyed gardening and planted many fruit trees in his backyard. A family favorite was the persimmon and calamansi trees, which provided many fruits for years to come, and thoughtfully shared with neighbors and visitors with pride. In 2000, Rufino and Luz moved to Las Vegas where they started their own home health care business. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing on his favorite penny slot machines at the Southpoint Casino. He was a big fan of Manny Pacquiao and would watch his fights repeatedly on YouTube. Rufino also enjoyed cooking and prepared delicious Filipino dishes for his family. He was also the family comedian and enjoyed making everyone laugh at family get-togethers.

Rufino was a member of the Catholic Fraternal Organization, the Knights of Columbus.

Rufino is survived by his wife, Luz Balancio Aquino, his children, Raquel Aquino Kaleb, Jo-Ann Aquino, Allan Aquino, son-in-law, Kurt Kaleb Sr., daughter-in-law, Christine Aquino, grandchildren, Kurt Kaleb, Jr., Kristopher Kaleb, Kyle Kaleb, Maya Aquino, Adriana Aquino, and numerous nieces, nephews and loved ones.

A visitation for Rufino will be held Thursday, October 17, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Palm Mortuary - Eastern, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123. A funeral service will occur Friday, October 18, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, 2300 Sunridge Heights Pkwy, Henderson, NV 89052. A committal service will occur Friday, October 18, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Palm Eastern Mortuary & Cemetery, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123. A reception will occur Friday, October 18, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Fiesta Filipina Cuisine, 2980 St Rose Pkwy,, Henderson, NV 89052.
