Sharon Marie McCarthy

Sharon Marie McCarthy (nee Greco) passed away on December 19, 2017, in Las Vegas NV at the age of 70. Sharon is survived by her husband, Gerard (Jerry) McCarthy (Las Vegas, NV), sons Joseph (Las Vegas, NV) and Michael (San Diego, CA) and daughter Christine, her partner Elvin Reyes, and their daughter, Juliana (Coventry, CT). Juliana is Sharon's only granddaughter and was her greatest joy, providing happiness and comfort to Sharon over the last four and a half years. Sharon also leaves behind her sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Gary Hawks, nephews Peter (wife Jennifer) and Paul DiGiulio and Matthew Hawks, as well as her brother, Victor (Guy) and niece and nephew, Vicki and Anthony Greco, all of Las Vegas, NV. Additionally, surviving Sharon, are her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Charles and Catherine McCarthy (Beacon, NY), their six children, and many great nieces and nephews on both the Greco and the McCarthy sides of the family. Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Marie Greco (nee Colihan), sister-in-law and nephew Jennie and Frankie Greco, and great nephew Brannon McCarthy. Sharon was born on July 7, 1947 in Bronx, NY. She attended James Monroe High School. Sharon and Jerry were married in 1969, had their three children in New City, NY, and moved to Monroe, Ct in 1979. Sharon lived in Monroe until 2009 and worked as a secretary for Monroe Public Schools, both at the central office and at Masuk High School. Sharon leaves behind countless friends and colleagues. A funeral is scheduled for 1:30 pm January 3, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church Las Vegas, NV. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Sharon's life. In lieu of flowers, it was Sharon's wish tath mourners contribute to a local animal shelter in her name.
