I can't believe it's been almost a year since Shelley passed away. I think about her often, and our time working together in TV in Las Vegas and Kennewick, WA. You were a great friend and roommate! You are missed.

I knew Shelley in college when we both attended Linfield in McMinnville, Oregon.  She was so nice and easy to be around.  I remember how ambitious she was and was so fearless at grabbing that brass ring.  So sorry for your loss.  What a waste.  I want you to know she touched a lot of lives including mine.

All the years I worked with Shelly she was always a friendly face and wonderful person. She always offered anything I needed from the Audio room. True friends we make are hard to forget. She will be fondly remembered.

I didn't know Shelley, but could tell by seeing and listening to her that she had a beautiful spirit and she was special.   My deepest condolences to your family.

I'm so so sorry to of heard of Shelley's passing.  It was just last July at our 30th high school reunion we all were sitting together having dinner talking about what a small world it was that my sister Kristi works with her and I should plan a visit to see Shelley when I was up there.
I'm so glad you toke Shelley on the safari vacation she dreamed of and not waited till her 50th birthday like she planned on.
She talked about what she did during her 30 years out of high school her journey sounded full of adventures, happiness, you and her dogs.
She will be greatly missed.

I'm so sorry for your loss Rick.  Shelley lit up every room she entered.  Back in 1996, she was one of the first people I met in LEVA and she made a positive impression on me. We grieve at the loss of one of our members and our dear friend, Shelly. Her contributions to our profession cannot be adequately measured and she will be missed forever. The Southern Nevada Multi-Agency Honor Guards dedicated our 9-11 ceremony to her memory. Without question, Shelley brought "Honor" to the Honor Guard. We stand ready to assist her family in any way possible. We all loved her very much.

Shelley was probably the best and most widely known employee of the entire Dept. I had the pleasure of knowing Shelley ever since I came to work for Metro in 1993. As a Crime Prevention Specialist, she helped me many times in putting out personal safety tips to the public and media.

And later, when I did the Training Wheel magazine for the Dept, our offices were next to each other. We used to email back and forth while sitting only a few feet from each other. I could hear her laughing at my silly emails, and then typing a response on her keyboard. She always made it a joy to go to work each day. We also shared many lunches together; always talking about our families and her love for Rick and her "children" i.e., her pet dogs.

Rick, it was Shelley who connected me to your mother Mary Ann several years ago, and who has become a very close and dear friend of my wife Kathy and I. I can't express in words how deeply sorry I am for your loss; a loss that not only affects you as a loving husband, as well as hers and your family, but one that has tremendously shattered the morale and spirit of the Metro family. Everyone loved Shelley.

Our prayers and heart-felt condolences go out to you, Carol, and all the immediate family members who are grieving so much at this time. Tears of sorrow will soon turn to tears of joy knowing that Shelley is in her glorious new home with our Lord and Savior.

Shelley was a very good friend of mine through LEVA and SWGIT for over 10 years and she will be missed by everyone that ever met her.  I also worked with Shelley and Rick at the Laughlin River Run motorcycle rallies. I will always cherish our great times and stories with everyone in our SWGIT group (Paul, Adam, Jimmie, Mike, Phil, and all the others) Shelley woud tell about all the travels her and Rick went on together to Alaska, Canada, and their African safari and she would send me some amazing photographs from their trips.  She was a GREAT photograher and very creative.  Tina and I will keep Rick and their families in our thoughts and prayers and again, Rick you have our deepest sympathy in your loss.

Rick,  I know you are devistated as are the rest of us who called Shelley friend!  I met Shelley many years ago when I worked on the 25th Anniversary for Metro.  She and Don did such a great job on the 25th Anniversary Video's.  Over the next 14 or 15 years as I worked on the 30th & 35th Anniversary I called on Shelly & Don for their assistance!  I always heard "Yes, I can do that" and they did it perfectly!  I last spoke to Shelly in May after I retired and moved to Oklahoma. I needed her help!  When I started to hang up she said "If you need anything just call me!"
Shelley was a professional, a lady, and a true friend! The world seems emptier with her gone!


I met Shelley at Quantico where we worked on Scientific Working Group committees. Along with  other members we became fast friends and truth be told, we became family, helping one another with travel issues, watching one another's backs and always finding some humor even amidst frustration and chaos. From there we formed a network of friends in our field who were just a text or e-mail away and awesome resources.
The community has lost one of its best.
My condolences to Rick, and to his and Shelley's families; you are in our prayers.
