Shirley Carole Forrester

Shirley Carole Forrester, 86, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on January 12, 2022. She was surrounded by family and loved ones in her final days, all of whom love her so dearly. Shirley was born November 11, 1935, in McGregor, Iowa.

As a 50-year resident of Las Vegas, Shirley was a retired Operator Supervisor at Centel Phone Company and had six children. Shirley enjoyed drawing and painting, cooking and baking, family history research, and learning new crafts. She was happiest when she was spending time with family, friends, and neighbors. Additionally, Shirley nourished her relationship with God throughout her entire life and was always proud of her religious beliefs.

Shirley is survived by her children Deborah Mueller (Eugene) of Shullsburg, Wisconsin, Rhonda Shafor (Mark) of Flagstaff, Arizona, Lisa Jersey (Ronald) of Henderson, Nevada, Jamie Empey (Richard) of Las Vegas, Nevada, and her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, and two children: Michael J. Rupp and Lori L. Forrester.

Shirley’s favorite scripture, Psalm 23, truly characterizes her mortal journey, as it is true that “goodness and mercy [followed her] all the days of [her] life; and [she] shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever”. Her loved ones look forward to that joyous day in which we shall all be reunited once again.
