Souad Marogi

Souad was born on March 2, 1940 in Baghdad, Iraq to Yousif and Rummana Hanna Kalandos. She married her husband, Sabah, when she was just 20-years old, with a beautiful union that lasted 61 years.

Souad’s whole life was devoted to her family. She opened her heart and her home to anyone in need. She and her husband helped countless family members get settled into this country and start new lives. She loved to cook for her family at frequent family gatherings. She was a woman of faith and attended church regularly when she could. She had the most beautiful smile and genuine spirit that would light up the room. Souad was the rock that our family’s foundation was built on.

Souad was preceded in death by her parents Yousif and Rummana and her son Emad.

She is survived by her husband Sabah; son Fouad; daughters Abtesam and Ahlam; grandchildren Denise, Derek, Darcell, Darren, Dunia, Dominic, Yasmeen, Noah, Jenna, Anthony, Mary, Iman and Angelo; and several great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at St. Barbara Chaldean Catholic Church followed by a burial at 12:00pm at Palm Eastern Cemetery.
