Stu was born July 18, 1933 in Bay City, Michigan, to Rose (nee Goldberg) and Jules Rubin. He is predeceased by his parents and survived by his wife Sharon Rubin (nee Liberman) of 59 years; daughter, Debra (Pat) DelVecchio; son, David (Amy) Rubin; and six grandchildren, Amanda DelVecchio, Jacob DelVecchio, Anthony DelVecchio, Athena Rubin, Quinn Rubin, and Levi Rubin. He was a graduate of Michigan State University, majoring in accounting. He was a Controller of two corporations, in addition to being an EA (Enrolled Agent) and owning two tax practices. He was drafted into the army during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid sports fan, having season tickets for Syracuse University football and basketball games for 25 years. He volunteered as a Pop Warner coach for 12 years in East Syracuse and Manlius, NY. After retiring to Henderson, NV, he enjoyed football games at UNLV for over 13 years, volunteering for AARP as a Tax Aide and raising money for various funds, including The American Heart Association and American Cancer Society. Stu enjoyed cruising the world with his wife, telling stories, sharing his wisdom and knowledge with others, but especially with his grandchildren.
Services will be held on July 13, 2023 at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City, NV.
