We are very sad to announce the passing of Therese (Terry) Lucy Scarrone, December 3, 2025. A professional dancer and teacher. Born in Berlin, Germany on April 25, 1933 she experienced the horrors of war at a young age. She was a professional dancer. Originally inspired by her much older sister, Therese studied ballet and modern dance. She began her career at the Berlin Ballet. She went on to embark on extensive tour of theaters and nightclubs throughout Italy. Under the training and the choreography of Paul Steffen she mastered Jazz Dance. After touring in larger shows, she went in a new direction, and joined the Florence and Frederic Dancers, where she met her future husband, Bruno. They opened at the Moulin Rouge in Paris. Their group was very popular and even flown to New York to be on the Ed Sullivan show. Since, the couple were from different countries they took the opportunity to tie the knot officially.
Terry also found time to have the first of three children, Ricardo. They continued touring throughout Europe, North Africa, and the Caribbean. A second child was born, a daughter, Elisa. Finally, they received an offer to perform at the Folies Bergere in the newly built Tropicana Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Therese and Bruno came on a two-month contract and never left. What other city could they raise a family and work at what they loved. After a few years a third child, Frederic was born.
She also performed in the Casino de Paris at the Dunes and the Lido show at the Stardust. In 1976 Therese along with her husband Bruno and Garold Gardner opened the Las Vegas Dance Theatre Studios in North Las Vegas. She was the director for the children’s division; teaching, choreographing, making the costumes and sets. Many of her students went on to become professional dancers. Therese worked hard to maintain a welcoming home for all. She was very industrious, putting up wall paper, installing kitchen tiles, door trims, sewing curtains etc. If something needed to be done, she was not shy about learning how to do it and doing it herself. She also gave herself to charities raising money for various causes. Later in life Therese and Bruno cruised around the world.
In 2018 Bruno, her husband of 65 years, passed away. Therese spent her last days in hospice care, at the home that she lived in since 1963, surrounded by her family. With much love and tears.
She is survived by her three children Ricardo, Elisa, and Frederic, her son in law Joe, daughters in law, Jasmine and Julie. Grand children Arthur, Antonio, Alex, Andrea, Bruno, Nick, Charlene, and Therese. Their spouses Katie, Doug, Simon, Sofia, and Jerrad. Great grandchildren Arlin, Sayur, Guiseppe, Gianni, and Sienna.
