Tom was born in Elizabeth, NJ, and grew up in Old Bridge, NJ. Over the course of his life he lived in Arizona, New Jersey, Nevada, and California.
He was predeceased by his father Charles Donovan, and his mother Margaret Donovan (nee Powers). He is survived by his partner of 28 years Jacqueline Strat, his brother Paul Donovan, and his sister Maureen Donovan and her husband Gordon Stanwyck, and many cousins and friends.
Tom was a man of many talents. He rebuilt a car engine before he was old enough to drive a car, could always find a way to fix almost anything, and loved being an Oracle Administrator and all things computer related. Even after he stopped working in the IT field computers were one of his passions.
Tom was also honing his photographic skills as a member of the Nevada Camera Club and was the president of his Homeowner’s Association.
Aside from his partner Jackie, perhaps the thing he loved the most in the world were the small dogs they fostered, and in some cases adopted, over the course of the 5 years they worked with Connor and Millie’s Dog Rescue organization. As he liked to say his favorite thing was to sit on his couch, drink his coffee, and pet his dogs.
Tom had a caring heart and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Palm Eastern Mortuary and Cemetery 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, Nevada on Friday, April 14th from 6pm - 9pm. A New Jersey Celebration of Life will be held sometime in the near future.
