Thomas Joseph Hudak Sr., 66, of Las Vegas, passed away June 15, 2011. He was born June 27, 1944, in Kingston, Pa., and was a 30-year resident of Nevada. Tom was a kind, loving, intelligent, organized, humorous and remarkable man. He was married to his first wife in 1962. He joined the Navy right out of high school, where he was trained as an electronics engineer and served 1963-1967. He moved from Pennsylvania to Maryland, where he began raising his family and was also post commander of the American Legion. Eventually, in 1981, his work moved him and his family to Las Vegas, where they enjoyed many years of exploring the desert. He worked as an electronics engineer his entire life and retired from Raytheon after working many years at the Nevada Test Site. He remarried Tilly Jan. 29, 2005, and happily enjoyed his retired life with her. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him. Tom was preceded in death by his mother and father, Anna and Joseph Hudak; and his first wife, Marie Hudak. Tom is survived by his wife, Tilly; son, Thomas J. Hudak Jr., daughters, Julianna Hudak and Lisa Wells; and son-in-law, Ron Wells, all of Henderson; grandchildren, Jacob, Jessica and Jonathan Wells, Jenny Hudak and Amy Lasagna; seven stepchildren, Jack, Rhonda, Stanley, Bob, Gary, Sheri and Tommy; 20 step-grandchildren; one stepgreat-grandchild; brothers, Joseph and Vince Hudak, of Pennsylvania. Viewing will be 3-7 p.m. Thursday, June 23, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 24, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 130 N. Pecos Road in Henderson. Burial following at Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
