Victorino “Ben” Capunitan, 77, passed away November 26, 2018. He was born November 1, 1941 in Cavite City, Philippines to Domingo and Anicia Capunitan. He served in the United States Navy for 20 years. He was a Vietnam War Veteran and served the United States with honor. While serving in the US Navy, Ben served four American Presidents including Presidents Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan at the White House in Washington DC. Following Ben's service at the White House, he began work at Lockheed Missiles and Space Company in Northern California where he retired in the 1990's. During his retirement years he traveled extensively throughout the US and Asia and was a community member of St. Joseph Church and Holy Spirit churches of Las Vegas. Ben was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Ulysses Capunitan. He is survived by his wife, Leticia Ocampo Capunitan; daughter, Armivia "Ivy" (Kevin) Louie; son, Genesis (Jennifer) Capunitan; granddaughter, Sophia Louie; and grandson, Solomon Capunitan. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 5830 Mesa Park Dr., Las Vegas, NV 89135. There will be a graveside service to follow at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City.
