Violet ‘Vi’ Pizzoferrato, 89, passed away peacefully in her home on the evening of January 31, 2025, surrounded by her children and grandchildren in Las Vegas, Nevada. Violet was born on January 17, 1936, in Cleveland, Ohio. She was a devoted wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Violet was married to her true love, Joseph Pizzoferrato, for 64 years. In 1971, Violet and Joe moved from Cleveland, to Las Vegas, where they raised their three children; Joseph, Patricia, and Dean. Violet was a faithful, loving, and caring woman who prayed the rosary daily and attended church every Sunday with her husband. She enjoyed cooking for her family, singing, and dancing. Her family always came first; she loved them more than anything. Violet treated everyone she met with kindness and was loved by all. A strong woman of faith, she rarely showed fear or hesitation. She maintained her sense of humor, strength, and grace until her last days.
Violet is reunited in heaven with her parents, Joseph and Mary Silvaggio; her siblings, Al, Tony, Frank, Rose, and Perry; her great-granddaughter, Dayla (2011); and her husband, Joe Pizzoferrato (2018). She is survived by her three children: Joseph (Eileen), Patricia, and Dean; eight grandchildren: Nicole, Joey, Alan, Dean Jr., Daniel, Mary, Kelli, and Kaitlyn; five great-grandchildren: Ian, Cara, Joey Jr., Cole, and Liliana; and an extended family of nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held on February 24, 2025 at St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. (7260 W. Sahara Ave., Las Vegas). A service will directly follow at Palm Eastern Mortuary. All are welcome to join the family for a meal and drinks at 3:00 pm, at her grandson Daniel's home. (Please contact the family for the address).
“To know her was to love her, but to know her was also to be loved by her.” You will be dearly missed, Grandma, but we take comfort in knowing you are at peace now, dancing in heaven with Papa.
