Virginia Bengert

Virginia was born February 22, 1933 in Algiers, LA where she found her one true love, Sonny. They were married for 63 wonderful years.

Virginia loved working at the Gold Coast in the gift shop and loved losing her money playing deuces wild. After retiring, her passion was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved with all her heart. Virginia was an avid reader, loved antique shopping and dining out whenever possible.

Virginia is survived by her husband Louis (Sonny) Bengert Jr.; her children Louis (Nino), Dean Paul, and Christina Marie; her grandchildren Joanna Bengert (Robert), Nicolas Bengert (Nikki), and Daniel Perez; mother of grandchildren Trinidad Bengert, and Christopher Reed (Daryl); her great-grandchildren Natalia, Alexander, Christian, and Anthony.

Virginia leaves behind her sisters, Irene Chifici and Merline Whatley, along with many nieces, nephews and caring friends.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony Chifici and Christina Barilleau Chifici; her sisters Catherine Chifici and Tanya Fraisse; and her brother Anthony T. Chifici.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to St. Jude's Ranch for Children.

No funeral services are scheduled at this time.
