AVIS DE DÉCÈS

Virginia Ann Jaeger

13 mars 1956 – 10 janvier 2022
Avis de décès de Virginia Ann Jaeger
AUX SOINS DE

Palm Eastern Mortuary & Cemetery

It is with profound sadness The Jaeger Family announces the passing of Virginia “Ginger” Jaeger. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1956, Ginger moved across the country with her family to the dusty town of Las Vegas in 1961. She attended Crestwood Elementary, John F. Miller Elementary, K.O. Knudson Junior High, Valley High School, and graduated from UNLV with a degree in English. Ginger began teaching in 1985 in the historic West Side of Las Vegas. She spent the last 19 years of her career sharing her love of reading with students at Woodbury Middle School, retiring after 28 years of teaching in 2013. She left a long-lasting impact on countless lives of students and kept in touch with many, finding joy in their successes.

Ginger loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. She was the oldest daughter of Ivan and Bernice Jaeger and sister to Jackie Jaeger and Judi Jaeger-Heyman. Ginger was mother to two daughters, Rebecca (Jaeger-Boehmer) Freeman and Eva (Jaeger-Boehmer) Degilormo. Perhaps her greatest joy in the last ten years is her three granddaughters, Gwendolyn (9), Aurora (7), and Penelope (5).

Ginger and Terry Thomas have been together for 24 years. Ginger’s passion for interior design combined with Terry’s calm and confident know-how resulted in the beautiful home they shared. They worked on projects together, took trips to Sedona, gardened, and rooted for the Vegas Golden Knights. Terry was a constant source of security, comfort, and love to Ginger, and he ensured she felt that right to the end.

Ginger loved life, her family, and her friends. She enjoyed a good shopping trip and laughing with her sidekick and sister Jackie, a ping pong match with her cousin Mitch, and a visit to Carlsbad, California, to visit her sister Judi. Ginger didn’t pass up the opportunity to celebrate everything, hosting many gatherings inviting family and welcoming friends. She would check on her parents and many cousins, aunts, and uncles and share her genealogy discoveries. Ginger was proud to see the women her daughters became and continued to push them to be even better. Ginger enjoyed playing, swimming, and laughing with her granddaughters, who made her so happy.

Ginger leaves family and friends behind who will continue to cherish and appreciate her. All will deeply miss her.

Please consider donating to Nathan Adelson Hospice in Ginger’s name in lieu of flowers. A celebration of life will be planned for a later date.
