Virginia Reyes Kastner

Virginia was born in the Philippines December 6,1949 and passed with her children at her side on December 23, 2025. She watched her children take their first breaths, and in turn her children held close to her as she took her last.

Virginia (Virgie) met her husband Joseph at the young age of 18 in the Philippines while studying at the University of Sto.Tomas, this is where her legacy began. Virginia and Joseph were married until she was widowed in 2006. They were blessed with a full house and had six sons. Upon relocating to Las Vegas in the early 80’s, they had their only daughter.

While happily raising their children, Virginia also worked at Imperial Palace and New York New York Hotel for many years until she was blessed and promoted to the ultimate title, grandmother.

Virginia had 18 grandchildren; Kevin, Michael, Zephron, Grayson, JC, Madison, Alex, Jasmine, Teiya, Chance, Ben, Nani, Abigail, Liam, Eden, Owen, Nara and August.

While motherhood was her passion, her world revolved around her grandchildren whom she adored. She was extremely generous, and found comfort in helping others. She often enjoyed galavanting and traveling the world any chance she could, admitting that she preferred the back seat on long car rides so that she could enjoy all of the sights that the world had to hold. Virgie was also the absolute best at finding treasures and deals for a bargain while shopping and was always excited to gift everyone with her newest finds. She was very active and walked at least 3 miles a day, “just for fun”.

Virgie built a firm foundation around her Catholic faith, and started every day with a prayer. Her faith held true until her very last days.

She is preceded in death by her parents Eufemia and Gonzalo Reyes, her sister Carmelita Dilag, her husband Joseph, and her son Jon.

She is survived by her sons Steve, Victor, Paul, Erik, Elliot and her daughter Kristine and their spouses, along with her 18 grandchildren who are learning to live without their “Lola Virgie” day by day.

A memorial mass will be held and information regarding dates and times will be updated accordingly .
