

Walter Charles "Duke" Loggins was born on September 8, 1938 in Reagan, Texas. The fifth child of Rachel and Reubin Loggins, he had three sisters Allene, Middie, and Annie and five brothers James, Raymond, Willie, Ruebin Jr., and Edward all of whom preceded him in death except for his youngest brother, Edward.
He grew up in the church and began a lifelong relationship with the Lord at an early age. It was at church, in 1953, where he met a little girl Thelma Nadine Brewer Mitchell. They later married on November 24, 1961 in a union that would last for 55 years. To that union, two children were born Mark Lynwood and Stacy Brandon. He was a 22-year veteran of the U. S. Army and a true inspiration to his family and friends. He was also an avid golfer and an all-around sportsman. He was a fantastic storyteller with a wicked sense of humor who could captivate any audience with his charm.
Duke is survived by his loving wife, Thelma, of Las Vegas, Nevada; two sons, Mark of Seattle, Washington, and Stacy of Alexandria, Virginia; a loving daughter-in-law, Greta of Alexandria; two wonderful grandsons, Mitchell and Gavin of Alexandria; a spirited granddaughter, Charley of Alexandria; and many very special friends throughout the United States.
His services begin on Wednesday, July 12, with a viewing from 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123. The Funeral Service is on Thursday, July 13, at 10:00 AM at Nellis AFB Chapel, Las Vegas, Nevada. The interment is on Friday, July 14, at 9:20 AM at Palm Eastern Mortuary followed by the repast at 10:30 AM.
