Mrs. Sarah Josephine Smith Matthews, age 85 of Lawrenceburg passed away on November 1, 2015 at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Center. She was a native of Lawrenceburg, homemaker, a seamstress and member of the Victory Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Bobby Gene Matthews of Lawrenceburg, Larry Wayne Matthews of Killen, AL; one sister Evie Hallmark; four grandchildren, Jessca Stephenson and Bobbi Jo Dotty both of Lawrenceburg, TN, Jennifer Jackson of Florence, AL, Steven Matthews of Killen, AL; six great-granddaughters; one great-grandson, Jamye Steadman of Lawrenceburg, TN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion “Toot” Matthews, parents, Portor and Bertie May Simpson Smith and two sisters, Elizabeth Maxwell and Amy Killen; and three brothers, Jesse Smith, William Smith and Charles Smith.
Funeral Service will be held at Pettus-Turnbo Chapel, Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at 11 am with Jessie Cozart officiating and interment in Richardson Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Pettus-Turnbo, Tuesday, November 3, 2015, 5 ~ 8 pm.
