Audrey was born to Inez and Joseph Martucci in Yonkers, New York on July 22nd, 1942. Raised in a world of refinement tempered with discipline, she developed an elegant identity. She studied at Ladycliff Academy and earned a Degree in Business Administration, following which she traveled throughout Europe where she honed her classical taste. A refined woman and talented pianist with a notably devoted work ethic, she culminated her creativity through her studies and performances at Juilliard School of Music. She met her Prince Charming in John Frederick Bubel, and they wed in fairytale fashion on the afternoon of February 2, 1966, in the halls of St. Barnabas Roman Catholic Church. From there, they unfolded a 60- year marriage which took them across numerous states and fruited 3 lovely children, several beloved dogs, and countless friends. Audrey reveled in her kitchen hosting magnificent dinner parties, commonly entertaining her guests with snippets of her piano work. Her laugh could be heard for days, and her joy was infectious. She took great pleasure in raising her children, ensuring they were outfitted for success. She dabbled in everything from gardening to cross-stitch, with a fond appreciation for the finer details of life. The family attended Catholic mass every Sunday, and her faith remained central to her life right through to her last day on Earth.
She joins her son, John (Jay) Joseph Bubel, as well as her mother, Inez Martucci, and father, Joseph Martucci at the Lord’s table, She is survived by her loving husband, John Bubel; her children, Christopher Bubel and his wife, Alisa, and Jennifer Wetherald and her husband, Rick; and her beloved grandchildren, Justin and his wife, Chelsie, Jason , Ashlynn, Braylen, and Maverick. All will carry her influence well into their own time and beyond.
In lieu of flowers, Audrey would be most honored by taking a moment to appreciate the bounty of your own life, lifting a prayer to our Lord, and calling a friend to schedule a luncheon together. If you are further compelled, charitable contributions may be made in her name to the Knights of Columbus and/or The Austin Youth Orchestra.
