On August 11, 2023 Ellie Jean Winters, 18, went to be with Our Heavenly Father. Born on March 14, 2005, Ellie was just four days away from beginning her freshman year at UT Austin. She was a lover of nature, petter of animals, devourer of books. Known for waking up at dawn to watch the sunrise, she always began her day before the rest of the world awoke. She was a free-spirit, brilliant thinker, a shining star.
Our Ellie had a natural talent and passion for dance and she shared it with everyone she could. She constantly frolicked about and spent countless hours alongside her dance family, teaching friends new moves, and choreographing mini sessions with her younger cousins. In high school, she became first lieutenant as a Guardian and cherished her dance sisters as if they were her own.
With Tom Glenn High School’s graduating class of 2023, Ellie was ranked number 5 overall. She was elected President of the National Honor Society, vice president of student council, and her presence was known in numerous organizations and clubs, she was admired by all. When she wasn’t at school or in a dance studio, she most cherished spending time with family and friends and exploring her world. Although she was always surrounded by loved ones, her mom was her best friend, biggest supporter, and most trusted confidante.
Ellie is survived by her adoring parents Diana Akins and Craig Winters, brother Aiden, and niece Analiea. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Bonnie Jean Winters and Dr. Wendell D. Winters; and her maternal grandparents Dora Elisa Flores and Domingo Flores. She will be missed by tons of friends, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Shine on, Ellie Jean. We love you.
A Funeral Mass for Elisa will be held Thursday, August 17, 2023 at 11:00 AM St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 1101 W. New Hope Drive, Cedar Park, Texas78613.
