Jacqueline was born April 1st 1947 in Jersey City, New Jersey to parents James and MaryJane Westervelt. She was the fourth of eight children; two brothers and five sisters. In 1964 Jacque graduated from Snyder High School later going on to work for Eastern Airlines as a flight attendant which allowed her to travel the world. It was while working for the airlines that in 1968 while in Hawaii, she met a young U.S. Naval machinist mate, Guadalupe "Lupe" Navarro. They were married May 9th 1970 in Keyport, New Jersey. They welcomed their first child, James Dionico, July 19th 1975. In January 1979, they decided to pack up and move their family to central Texas. On October 22, 1982 their family welcomed their second child, Katrina Jaclyn. There Jacque would go on to receive her degree in Biotechnology from St. Edward's University at Austin. Advancement in her career provided opportunities to relocate and shortly after their divorce in 1996, she took a job offer in California. She followed moves to Colorado, Nevada, and eventually moving to Florida to be closer to her family. After several health scares and hospitalizations in 2017, she relocated back to Texas where she lived with her daughter until her death.
Jacque had a love of life that was fueled by her strong faith in Christ. She was a kind, Godly woman who lived her life walking by His word as best she could. Jacqueline enjoyed learning new things, crafts, flowers, playing cards and anything that sparkled! She also loved music and especially loved to dance. Most days you could catch her singing and humming quietly to herself.
She had a huge heart and loved to give to others. She was funny and her laugh was contagious. Her smile was brightest but really shined when she was with her family and friends. She will forever be our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, godmother, aunt and friend; always in our hearts and never forgotten.
