Kathleen—“Kathy” to her friends and family—was the warmest, kindest, and gentlest person you would meet. She had incredible faith in the Lord, and devoted herself to Him and to her family through prayer, compassion, and love. Her beauty, inside and out, was evident to all who came to know her.
Kathy was born in New Orleans in 1959 to her loving parents Charles “Charlie” Wall and Mary “Mollie” Kilian Wall. Kathy attended St. Edward’s Catholic School, Archbishop Chapelle High School, Dominican University (majoring in Fine Art & French), and Tulane University (Master of Arts in Art History). She worked in curation at the Historic New Orleans Collection in the French Quarter.
During her professional career, she met the love of her life, John Burton Hardey, Jr. at a Catholic young adults group, “Journey,” at St. Edward the Confessor Parish in Metairie, Louisiana. They married in 1986 and started a family in Mandeville, Louisiana in 1989.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Mollie Wall, and is survived by her loving husband John, her beautiful daughters Christine Elizabeth, Sarah Margaret, and Emily Catherine, her sons-in-law Stewart Chow and Morgan Cantwell, and her grandchildren Luke, Jackson, and Eleanor.
The memorial mass will be held at Emmaus Catholic Parish on August 22, 2024 at 10:00am.
In lieu of flowers, please donate in Kathy’s name to PSP research at curePSP.org and make a Tribute Gift donation.
