Linda Joyce Openshaw, 71, passed away November 4, 2025. Linda resided in Liberty Hill, Texas where she and her beloved husband of 52 years, Robert, made their home. Linda was born on March 5, 1954, in Floresville, Texas.
She had a deep love of nature. She always enjoyed observing the local wildlife, especially the deer and variety of birds that frequented her yard. She always made sure that they were well fed and cared for.
She also enjoyed people, and her kind, loving heart showed through to all that she met. There were only two kinds of people, those who loved Linda and those who hadn’t been lucky enough to meet her yet.
She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and doting grandmother. She truly adored being surrounded by family, especially around the holidays. She adored cooking delicious meals for them to enjoy. She always poured her heart and soul into caring for the ones she loved.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Alvis and Melva Wood. She is survived by her loving husband. As well as her eldest son James and his wife Patty Openshaw, her youngest son Stephen Openshaw, her granddaughters Jordan and Avery Openshaw, her brother Rodney and wife Cheryl Wood, her sister Cindy and husband Allen Lindsay, and her sister-in-law Kathy Openshaw.
The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
As she loved nature so much, we ask that if anyone feels compelled to, please donate to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation.
