Monika was born on December 7, 2001 in Austin, Texas to Erik Dieckert and Angelica Malanchuk. She was a student majoring in Finance at the University of Texas at Dallas.
Monika was a talented member of her color guard team at Leander High School, earning the rank of Color Guard Captain. She flourished performing with flags, rifles, and sabers in hundreds of shows for the Leander High School Marching Band and the Leander Winter Guard. Two of her proudest achievements were winning the WGI Scholastic World Championship in April 2018 and performing at Bands of America Grand Nationals in 2016 alongside her sister, Madeline.
Monika was known for her powerful and elegant presence, gorgeous smile, and generous spirit. Most of all, she was known for her strength and independence. She loved the color pink, the band BTS, American pit bull terriers, and decorating the tree each Christmas with her family.
Monika was preceded in death by her grandparents, Julius and Marilyne Dieckert. She is survived by her mother, Angelica Malanchuk; father, Erik Dieckert; stepmother, Cindee Sharp; sister, Madeline Dieckert; grandmother, Hester Marks and grandfather, Robert Pearson; grandfather David Malanchuk; grandparents, Charles and Patsy Sharp; beloved pets Lucille, Leonidas, Riley, and Autumn; Aunt Stephanie Tann and husband, Michael and their sons, Joshua and Zachary; along with other numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
