Paul Henry Hill

Paul Henry Hill, 76, of Leander, Texas went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 23, 2023, surrounded by his wife and daughter. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 PM, Monday, July 31st, at Generations Church in Leander, Texas, under the direction of Pastor Bob Brydon.

Paul was born on May 19, 1947, in San Francisco, California, to William Norman Hill and Virginia Catherine (Sudduth) Hill. He was the oldest of nine, three brothers and five sisters.

Paul graduated from Coffee High School in Florence, Alabama in 1965. He was also a graduate of Florence State University. Paul loved to enrich his knowledge. He taught school early on in his life. He later went to Culinary School and achieved the level of Sous-chef. Paul had a love for music, especially Classical.

In his later years, he operated a cleaning service for commercial businesses and family homes. You could always expect Paul to bring his “boom box” along and either have classical music or talk radio playing, usually Rush Limbaugh.

Paul also loved staying healthy. He was an avid bike rider. In fact, he rode his bike cross country from Austin, Texas to Florence, Alabama. Even after being diagnosed with cancer, he would sometimes ride his bike to a client’s home.

Paul became a father to his beautiful daughter Heather Hill Nelms in 1974.

After taking a trip to the Philippines, Paul married Jacqueline G. Hill of the Philippines in 2003. He helped her get her citizenship and they were happily married for 21 years.

Paul and Jacqueline attended his daughter’s wedding in Puerto Rico in August of 1999 where she married Chris Nelms.

Paul will be remembered as a man of integrity, trustworthy, faithful, who loved teaching and was hard working, and kind. He loved the Lord and no doubt he received a “well done” when he entered Heaven’s gate.

Paul is survived by his wife, Jacqueline G. Hill of Leander, Texas; daughter, Heather (Hill) Nelms and husband Chris of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Leonora Davis and husband Terry, Elizabeth Counts and husband James, Anna Hill, and Vanessa Thompson; brothers, Michael Hill and wife Connie, Tommy Hill and wife Myra, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, William Norman Hill and Virginia Sudduth Hill; one sister, Mary Clemmons; and one brother, Richard Hill.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to suggest memorial donations be made in honor of Paul Hill towards the funeral expenses to: “Jackie Hill” in care of Generations Church of Leander, TX, P.O. Box 280, Cedar Park, TX, 78630.
