He was preceded in death by his beloved Lizzie girl. He is survived by his wife Jullie, his daughters Ari and Paisley, his sister Sarah, brother Adam, and parents Simon and Olga. Simon was a devoted husband and father, a loving brother, and a cherished son, as well as a proud Texas native who called Austin home for the past 26 years.
Simon’s greatest gift was his humor. He possessed a unique ability to tell jokes that made everyone feel included. Every joke, regardless of how brutal, came from a place of love. His laughter was contagious, and he lit up any room he walked into.
He was a natural coach and mentor. He challenged, encouraged, and believed in others, often long before they believed in themselves. To many, he became more than a friend; he was a brother when one was needed and a father figure when guidance and strength were missing.
Simon loved foosball, camping, hunting, and especially bass fishing. If there was a chance to fish, Simon was there, even if it was dropping a line at Lake Costco. He found peace on the water and in the rugged beauty of Black Gap. He was a passionate football fan, who cheered on Ohio State and the 49ers with a fierceness the teams could no doubt feel. More than anything, Simon loved his family. It was the center of his life and his greatest source of pride. He loved his daughters in a way that was constant and undeniable. He celebrated who they were as well as their accomplishments. He showed up, not only in the big ways, but the quiet ones, like knowing when a hug was all they needed. His love extended beyond his immediate family to include a wide circle of relatives and friends that helped mold him into the warm, loving, funny man we all knew.
What truly set Simon apart was how deeply he cared for people and was loved in return. He was always inviting others in, whether it was to join him on the water, sit around a campfire, try something new, or simply share a moment. He wanted people to experience life fully, and he made sure no one had to do it alone.
His legacy is one of love and connection which could be felt by everyone, even if you had just met him. He built his life grounded in support, loyalty, and most of all laughter. Simon will be remembered for how he made people feel seen, valued, and loved. May his life challenge us to love deeply, live life to its fullest, and take the invitation to try something
new.
