Arthur Leroy Buchter Jr.

Arthur Leroy Buchter Jr. passed away Friday January 1, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Hospital. He was the husband of Geraldine Light Buchter to whom he was married to for 65 years. He was born in Myerstown on January 5, 1929. He was the son of the late Arthur Leroy Buchter Sr and Elsie Wolfe Buchter.

Arthur was a retiree from Met-Ed. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, EN3 USN. He was a life member of Rural Security Fire Company and "R" Field and Stream. He was also a member of Mount Olive Lodge of the Masonic Lodge 704. He enjoyed hunting at his cabin in Hillsgrove, Pa as well as fishing, and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, sisters Helen Light, Catherine Armstrong, Arlene Fees, Grace Zeigler, Shirley Firestone, and brother John. In addition to his wife he is survived by his children and their families. Son, Raymond H. husband of Cheryl. Son, Dennis Archie husband of Kathy. Son, Glenn D. husband of Kathy. Son, Kevin K. husband of Cathy. Daughter, Louise A. Spangler. As well as grandchildren; Bjorn, Andy, Kerry, Kyle, Kay-Dee, Kimberly, Glenn Jr, Paul, Sarah, Emily, Christopher, and Kristen. Eight great grandchildren. He is also survived by brother-in-law Eugene Zeigler and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Family and Friends are respectfully invited to attend Arthur’s memorial services being held at the Lebanon Valley Homes Chapel on Friday, January 15th, 2016 at 11:00AM with a visitation from 10:00AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville with full military honors at 1:00PM. The Rohland Funeral Home Inc. is handling the arrangements.
