Carmen Antonia Huertas Chaparro, 87, of Lebanon, died Thursday, July 2, 2015 in the Good Samaritan Hospital. She was the wife of the late Confesor Calero Ramos. She was born in Ciales, Puerto Rico on August 16, 1927, a daughter of the late Manuel Huertas Pantojas and Rosa Chaparro Alicea. Carmen was employed by the Pavia Hospital in Puerto Rico as a nurse assistant. She was very involved in politics with the Republican Party in Puerto Rico and New York City. She was a very outgoing individual and loved to dance, sing and listen to all types of music. She is survived by children, Benita Calero Huertas, Julio C. Calero Huertas, Hidida Calero Huertas and Irma N. Calero-Haser; ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. She was the last of her immediate family. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 7th at 2:00 PM in the St. Benedict The Abbott Church, 1300 Lehman St., Lebanon, PA. Interment will be made in the Schaefferstown Cemetery.
