Charles Frank Kern Jr., 88, passed away at his home in Annville, Pennsylvania, Wednesday, December 6, 2017. Charles was born June 12, 1929 in Lehigh County, the son of the late Charles F. Kern Sr. and Elizabeth Schneck Kern. He was a graduate of Lebanon High School, Class of 1947, and a member of the Community Bible Church, Palmyra. Charles retired from Sowers Printing Co. and he enjoyed wood working. Charles is survived by: sons, Thomas L. and Susan Kern, and Tyrone L. and Sherri Kern; daughter, Tierney L. Heverling; daughter in law, Mary Kern; nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and two step children; brother Richard D. and Elizabeth Kern; and sister Elaine N. and Leroy Brandt. Charles is preceded by: wife, Dorothy Snavely Kern; wife, Martha M. Young Kern; son, Terry L. Kern; and sister, Marie Kern Fessler. A memorial service will be held in the Community Bible Church, 1849 S. Forge Rd. Palmyra Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Community Bible Church.
