
Doris M. Stone, 82, of Mt. Gretna, died on Sunday, January 20th, 2013, comfortably at home surrounded by many loving family members. She was preceded in death and now reunited with her husband Luther W. Stone. Born in Lebanon, PA on April 13th, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Mabel Heim. She was a 1948 graduate of Lebanon High School. She and Luther met in high school where they began their life together, marrying soon after in June of 1951. During her long and fulfilling life, Doris enjoyed the outdoors of Mt. Gretna, swimming, gardening, arts and crafts, volunteer work, and especially her family. Holiday gatherings at her home were very special and important to her. She also followed and enjoyed our nation’s space program, attending many of the early shuttle launches with her family. Vacations with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren became a tradition throughout her life. Doris is survived by many loving family members, including her sons Luther W. “Chip” Stone, husband of Norma Stone, Michael L. Stone, and David J. Stone, husband of Lois Stone; daughters Sandra E. Stone, and LuAnne M. Seltzer, wife of Robert Seltzer; grandchildren Brandy and Christopher Day, Melissa Stone and Andrew Stone, Jonathan Stone, Jason and Eliza Stone, Jordan Stone, Jacy Seltzer and preceded in death by twins Samuel and Charles Seltzer , Michael and Leslie Parks; great-grandchildren Calvin and Hazel Day, Jonathan and Briana Stone, Austin, Bethany and Amaya Hutchins, Zachary Keck, and Bella Parks. Doris is also survived by two brothers, Lewis and Stanley Heim, and was preceded in death by one sister Marion. An Evening Viewing will be held Wednesday, Jan. 23rd, 2013 in the Rohland Funeral Home Inc. 508 Cumberland Street, Lebanon from 7:00p.m until 9:00p.m. The Funeral Service will be held Thursday, Jan. 24th, 2013 in the Church of the Good Shepherd U.M.C 1025 Quentin Rd., Lebanon at 10:00a.m. A viewing will be from 9:00a.m. until 10:00a.m. in the church. Interment will be in Grand View Memorial Park, Annville. Contributions may be made in Doris’s memory to the Lebanon Rescue Mission 439 S. 6th St. Lebanon, Pa., 17042. Doris M. Stone will be greatly missed and never forgotten. We love you grandma.
