

Rev. George David Drupp, Sr., 71, of Lebanon, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2016 in the Wellspan Good Samaritan Hospital. He was the husband of the late Mary Jane Goss Drupp. He was born in Reading on February 27, 1945 a son of the late Daniel D. and Eva Minerva Schlott Delp. George volunteered as a little league baseball coach and was a former president of the Southeast Playground Association. He attended Penn State University, Berks Campus studying electronics. George became owner and operator of Drupp’s TV business in 1984 and later passed the business on to his sons before he decided to change his career to become a minister. He then attended the Evangelical Theological Seminary in Myerstown and after graduation, he was ordained and served as pastor of the Evangelical Congregational Churches in Birdsboro, Reading and Frackville. George served on the Board of ECC Retirement Village for 20 years. He also was founder of Kids Café in Berks County which still serves as an after school program. He is survived by sons, George D. Drupp, Jr. of Lebanon; Joseph M. Drupp and wife Sandra A. of Lebanon; Thomas A. Drupp and wife Susan A. of Lebanon; John E. Drupp and wife Victoria L. of Schaefferstown; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren. His celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 11 AM in the First Evangelical Congregation Church, 607 Chestnut Street, Lebanon, PA 17042 with a visitation beginning on Saturday at 10 AM. The family invites all to stay following the service for a gathering in the church social hall. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the First ECC.
