Harold E Beard

Harold E. Beard, 89, of Lebanon died Wednesday, December 28, 2011 in the Lebanon Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born in Cornwall, PA on February 13, 1922, son of the late Helen Engle Beard. He was a 1939 graduate of Cornwall High School. He worked for many years as a chemical engineer having earned his degree at Penn State University. Harold was a U.S. Air force veteran having served during WWII and a member of the United Methodist Church of the Good Shepherd, Lebanon. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and traveling. He is survived by his wife of 35 years Helen D. Beard; daughter: Kathryn and her husband Marion VanFossen; Richard Myhren and his wife Cynthia, son of Helen Beard; sisters: Dolores wife of Randall Miller; Joyce and her husband Fred Shoemaker; daughter-in-law: Jennifer Beard; sister-in-law: Dolly Beard and several grandsons and nephews. A tribute to his life will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 10:00 AM in the United Methodist Church of the Good Shepherd, 1500 Quentin Rd, Lebanon where a viewing will begin at 9:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be made in Grand View Memorial Park, Annville. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to his church. The Rohland Funeral Home, Lebanon is handling the arrangements.
