Hazel V Adams

Hazel V. Adams, 104, passed away February 14, 2018. Hazel was born July 4, 1913, in Lancaster County, the daughter of the late John and Virginia Doster Esslinger. She was the wife of the late Robert L. Adams. Hazel graduated from Ephrata High School and Millersville State Teacher College, and taught in Warwick Township Schools. She was an active substitute teacher, church school teacher, day camp director, and an active service volunteer at Cornwall Manor. She was a member of the Board for World Ministries, a delegate to the General Synod of the United Church of Christ, and active in Lay Ministry. In addition, she enjoyed traveling abroad to do mission work. Hazel is survived by her daughter Bonnie Scarborough; granddaughters, Kristen Smith and Kimberly Wetten; and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded by her brother Alvin Esslinger. A grave side service will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 11:00am at the Conestoga Memorial Park, 95 Second Lock Rd, Lancaster, PA. Arrangements are being handled by Rohland Funeral Home, Lebanon, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Gretna Glen Camp & Retreat Center and the Cornwall United Methodist Church.
