Janice Patricia Standish, 89, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026, comforted by the presence and admiration of her loving family. She was born on September 24, 1936, in Petersburg, VA, a daughter of the late Walter William Miller and Eleanor Cilley.
Janice was a faithful member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church of Lebanon. A 1953 graduate of Lebanon High School, she worked as a medical billing clerk for Lebanon Valley General Hospital, Philhaven Hospital, and Penn State Hershey Medical Center. She enjoyed vacationing in the Outer Banks with her husband, the late Albert “Cap” Standish, Jr and family. Janice was also a proud member of the Mount Gretna community, where she lived in the Heights with Cap for more than 25 years.
Throughout her life, Janice was a Boston Terrier mom. She loved her fur-babies: Happy, Pepper, Mickey, and Lily, but her greatest joy was her family and the time they spent together.
She is survived by her children, Greg (Regina) Garrett of Gettysburg, and daughter, Ann (Michael) Keffer of Mount Gretna; grandsons, Blair Garrett and Zachary Keffer; and granddaughters, Taylor Garrett and Lexie Keffer.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, Tamara Ann, and her husband of 31 years, Cap.
Service information is pending at this time; a formal announcement will follow.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the Mount Gretna Volunteer Fire Company, PO Box 177, Mount Gretna, PA 17064.
